La Traviata is the opera by Giuseppe Verdi based on La Dame aux camélias by Alexandre Dumas. Violetta, a famous Parisian courtesan, leaves everything behind to be with her lover Alfredo. But Alfredo’s sister cannot marry if Alfredo lives with Violetta. Mr Germont, Alfredo’s father, is in charge of telling Violetta, who leaves Alfredo. Finally, Violetta, who has tuberculosis, receives a visit from Alfredo and Mr Germont, who sees the error of his ways. Violetta dies surrounded by her loved ones.
