Weekly market: Thursday market

The Thursday market has over 400 stalls dotted throughout the streets and squares in the city centre and around key buildings and sites. This popular market is over a thousand years old and was first documented in 1040. It’s a point of reference for the whole region and embodies the commercial spirit of Granollers.


People still sit down to a traditional hearty breakfast on market day, a custom developed by farmers and merchants to close their deals.


Clothes stalls are the most popular, followed by food, personal accessories and household goods. And there are still a few poultry stalls, reflecting the market’s farming past.


Granollers market is the largest held on a weekday throughout the county.

Local market: Saturday market

The Saturday market in Granollers is a food market with produce by local farmers and crafts people. The ideal market to find organic products and food fresh from the garden.


The Saturday market in Granollers is a food market and all its stalls are run by local farmers and crafts people.


The selection of producers is based on values such as regional suppliers, original products and high quality foods, as well as the use of local varieties and species. The market has produce from about fifteen different farmers, as well as several butchers and producers of cold meats and sausages, cheese, oil, conserves, honey and beer.


The weekly market for the district of Can Bassa also takes place on Saturday mornings, in Carrer d’Esteve Terrades, between Avinguda de Marie Curie and Carrer de Caterina Albert.

Fresh products: Sant Carles Municipal Market

The Sant Carles Municipal Market has been located in Plaça de la Caserna, in the old town, since 1968. The market has around thirty stalls selling top quality fresh produce, especially fish, beef, pork and horse meat, as well as poultry.


You can also buy local products such as cold meats and sausages, fruit and vegetables and salted fish and, in addition to the traditional bakery products, there are also prepared dishes, legumes and patisserie products, among others.

Crafts fairs

Throughout the year the streets and squares of Granollers are filled with various fairs and flea markets.


  • Vallès Crafts Fair: a small fair with local handicrafts, taking place one Saturday a month in Carrer Anselm Clavé, one of the main pedestrianised streets in the centre.
  • Crafts Fair in Plaça de la Corona: A small fair with a wide range of traditionally made products, both local and imported, at a good price. This sells silver jewellery and gemstones, pottery and wooden crafts, clothing accessories,  basketwork, aromatic herbs and cosmetics. It’s held on two Fridays a month in the Plaça de la Corona.

Fira de l’Ascensió

The Fira de l’Ascensió is an annual event involving several sectors that displays the latest innovations from the manufacturing, services and automotive industries, agriculture and stockbreeding. It’s located in the Parc Firal (trade fair) This trade fair coincides with the celebration of the Ascension and is complemented by various cultural and traditional acts, such as a procession, a gastronomic exhibition and the ‘Jugar x Jugar’ festival.


Thanks to the participation of all exhibitors, this has become a leading display of the commercial, industrial, gastronomic, agricultural and leisure-related products and services available in the Vallès Oriental, with 69 years of history.


The Fira de l’Ascensió has become a tradition throughout the county but it is also still evolving to promote new initiatives.

La Llotja del Disseny

The Llotja del Disseny transforms the Plaça de la Porxada once a month. With a careful selection of independent designs and creations accompanied by concerts, workshops and live demos, this is a modern, innovative project to sell, via limited editions and on a small scale, items of clothing and accessories that are very difficult to find in more general establishments.

Motor Festival

In an open-air area covering 15,000 m², visitors will find, in clearly marked zones, displays of classic and racing motorbikes and cars, as well as stands, competitions and a children’s and catering area, all around the world of motors.


The Motor Festival includes the Classic Car Auction, offering replacement parts and also buying and selling classic cars.


There’s a catering area including in the Festival and also a children’s area for families with simulated competitions, go-karts, pedal cars and a Segway track, among other attractions.

Audiovisual Market of Catalonia

The Audiovisual Market of Catalonia (MAC) is a place to meet up, exchange opinions and experiences for the audiovisual professionals of Catalonia.


It includes training seminars with experts on the latest trends in communication and audiovisuals, as well as specialised sessions with representatives of leading  models in the industry.


The MAC also promotes areas for service providers and audiovisual agents to meet each other and discuss products and services.

Christmas Fairs and Markets

During the Christmas festivities, you can find two Christmas product markets in the historic centre of the city, where you will be able to buy the best presents for these festivities. In Barangé square, the craft and gift product market, and in Porxada and l’Església squares, the Christmas cribs, trees, plants and Christmas decorations market.
